Biography
Miss Tanner joined Battelle in 1980 and initially worked in the areas of neutronics, nuclear fuels, safeguards, and criticality. In 1982, she began working in health physics and has become internationally recognized for the characterization of neutron fields at commercial reactors and Department of Energy facilities and for calculating radiation dose rates and dosimeter/instrument responses. Significant contributions have also been in the fields of neutron spectral analysis and external dosimetry. Additional areas of expertise include radiation shielding, emergency preparedness, nuclear instrumentation, nondestructive assay, and waste management. She also has extensive skills in task and project management, marketing, and proposal development.
